Fashion Friday: Rebecca Minkoff

If you're not familiar with Fashion Fridays collaboration -
Fashionblogger & my bff Cassi from The Granny Treatment chooses a fashion collection,
then I choose 5 outfits/designs I want to recreate as a mani!

This weeks Fashion Friday inspiration is Rebecca Minkoff Fall 2012 Runway Collection!
I achieved this look using a combination of nail polish, acrylic paint, matte & shiny topcoat and "sand" texture!

Here are the swatches of what I used as inspiration:

Enjoy & have a Happy Friday! :)

Fashion Friday: Oscar de la Renta

Due to last week's Fashion Inspiration post being a huge success..
Me & my fashion blogger bff Cassi from The Granny Treatment have decided to do a weekly collaboration called

Since she is the fashion savvy one, she will be choosing the designer and collection.
I will then choose 5 different items from the collection and recreate them as nail art :)

Here are the swatches I used as my inspiration:

If there are any runway collections you'd like to see turned into nail art,

Halloween Themed Nails: Nightmare Before Christmas!

The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my absolute favorite movies, so I've been wanting to do these nails for a while.
Being a bit of a perfectionist, I knew it'd be time consuming so I kept putting it off.
After 2 hour of painting & a matte topcoat, they're finally done!

I did Jack & Sally together in the graveyard, Jack, Sally, Zero, Zero's grave stone/doghouse, Lock, Shock, Barrel in their masks, Oogie Boogie, and of course the bug in the cage that gets fed to him!

Half-Moon Mani: Round 2

Yesterday's half-moon mani colors were just too... old ladyish for me.
I decided to re-do them this morning.

This time, I opted for a matte graphite color by China Glaze called "Stone Cold" as the half-moon base color. (I reviewed and swatched  it not too long ago)
On the rest of the nail, I used China Glaze "Liquid Leather" which is a very shiny patent leather black.
I also topped off the black with a coat of Seche Vite to make it extra shiny so the matte of the half-moon stands out even more.
I can actually see my reflection in the sleek black shinyness!
I like this look much better.  It's more sultry and modern, but still has a classy vintage appeal.
