Sunday Social (1 Day Late)

Sunday Social is a fun & simple way to help your readers get to know you a little better.
You can link up with your blog at ashleyscarnivalride and join in on the fun! :)

This week I totally forgot to schedule it to be posted on Sunday and I had a family party yesterday, so it's a day late.  Oops!

1. What do you miss most about being a kid?
My sister and I were basically raised by my maternal grandmother.
She passed away when I was 16, and I really miss the stability and structure she provided.  I always knew we'd be okay when she was around!

2. Did you have a nick name growing up?  What was it?
My name is Lauren Marie, and somehow that got turned into Lauren McGee.. and then it was shortened to McGee.
My close family members still call me that to this day!

3. What was your favorite thing to do at recess?
I vividly remember playing tag and hiding in the trees, sitting on layers upon layers of fallen pine needles and leaves.

4. What did you want to be when you grew up?
I don't remember any from when I was very young, but when I was in high school I always wanted to become either a Spanish teacher or forensic psychologist.
I ended up working as a body piercer at a tattoo shop as soon as I graduated and have been doing it since then!

5. What was your favorite toy?
One of my favorites that stands out in my mind is a Little Mermaid doll I used to have.
I remember playing with it in the bath tub and making "castles" out of bubbles :D

6. What is the funniest thing you did as a kid that your parents still remind you about?
My dad always loves to tell the story of how I "fed" a peanut butter & jelly sandwich to the VCR, and upon being interrogated about it, blamed it on our dog.  His favorite part of the whole story is when he pushed the eject button and the sandwich came out.  (I don't know how true the last part is, but he swears it happened!)
My mom actually showed me the home video of the first day they brought my younger sister home from the hospital.  I just stood on the other side of the room saying "But... what about Lauren?  What about me?" over and over, while they fussed over the new baby and paid no attention to me haha!
